Neuromodulators (Wrinkle Relaxers)
Movement. Expression. Emotion.
Our faces tell the story of our lives. Every smile, laugh, and raised eyebrow reflects the emotions that make us uniquely human. Over time, though, these repeated movements leave a lasting impression on the skin — lines that once appeared only in motion begin to remain even at rest.
Neuromodulators — including Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® — soften expression lines while preserving natural movement. The goal is never to erase expression, but to restore a refreshed, rested appearance that still feels authentically you.
Every treatment at SkinMed Institute is personally performed by Dr. Mona Sadeghpour, a board-certified, fellowship-trained cosmetic dermatologist whose approach combines advanced facial anatomy, evidence-based medicine, and aesthetic artistry.
Our Philosophy: Soften, Don't Freeze.
The best neuromodulator treatment softens movement — it doesn't eliminate it. Friends may tell you that you look rested. They shouldn't be able to say why.
Rather than freezing the face or chasing individual wrinkles, we evaluate how the entire face moves together, guided by three principles:
Facial Harmony.
Your face works as one interconnected system. Relaxing a single muscle can influence others, so we evaluate movement as a whole rather than treating isolated lines.
Precision.
Small differences in placement, depth, dosage, and muscle selection are what separate natural refinement from an overtreated look.
Individualization.
Every injection pattern is customized to your anatomy, muscle strength, expression, and long-term goals — whether that goal is prevention, correction, or subtle rebalancing. Neuromodulators are one of the most effective tools for slowing new lines before they set in, so treatment is always tailored to your stage of facial aging.
What Neuromodulators Can Treat
Neuromodulators are remarkably versatile — used to soften wrinkles, improve facial balance, and treat certain medical conditions. Common treatment areas include:
Forehead lines
Frown lines (glabellar “11s”)
Crow's feet
Bunny lines
Brow shaping and subtle brow lift
Lip flip
Chin dimpling (“orange peel chin”)
Downturned corners of the mouth (DAO)
Neck bands (platysma)
Masseter reduction and facial slimming
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
Beyond wrinkle reduction, neuromodulators can refine facial proportions by relaxing muscles that overpower surrounding structures — creating a softer, more balanced appearance.
Our Approach: We Treat Outcomes, Not Units
Neuromodulator treatments are often discussed by the number of units administered. At SkinMed Institute, we believe that's the wrong place to start.
The right treatment is determined by your anatomy, muscle strength, and goals — not a predetermined dose. Two patients with identical wrinkles may need entirely different treatment plans to reach the same natural-looking result. That's why every treatment is designed around an outcome, not a quantity.
That same judgment — understanding how dozens of facial muscles interact to create movement, symmetry, and expression — shapes Dr. Sadeghpour's approach at every visit. Her perspective is informed not only by clinical experience but by an academic career spent advancing cosmetic dermatology through physician education, national lectures, research, and advisory roles with leading aesthetic companies — ensuring every recommendation reflects the latest understanding of anatomy, safety, and natural aesthetic outcomes.
Your Experience: The Facial Movement Assessment
Every treatment begins with a detailed evaluation of how your face moves. Dr. Sadeghpour assesses:
Facial muscle strength
Dynamic expression
Brow position and facial symmetry
Areas of muscle imbalance
Existing wrinkles and future aging patterns
Your aesthetic priorities
From this assessment, an individualized treatment plan is built specifically for you.
What to Expect
Treatment typically takes 10–20 minutes, using a series of small injections with an ultra-fine needle. Most patients return to normal activities immediately afterward. Initial improvement appears within several days, full results develop over two weeks, and effects typically last 3–5 months depending on the product and your metabolism.
A Thoughtful Approach to Aging
Neuromodulators are one part of a comprehensive rejuvenation strategy. For many patients, the best results come from pairing wrinkle relaxers with treatments that improve skin quality, restore facial support, or address pigmentation and vascular change. Rather than treating one concern at a time, we build a long-term strategy that lets your results evolve naturally — while preserving your unique facial identity.
