Mona Sadeghpour, MD


A graduate of Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Mona Sadeghpour is an award-winning, Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Cosmetic Dermatologist and one of only a select few physicians in western Pennsylvania to have completed the highest level of training in laser and cosmetic dermatology through nationally accredited residency and fellowship programs. Recognized nationally for her expertise in facial rejuvenation, lasers, pigmentary disorders, and aesthetic safety, she is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, serves on advisory boards for leading aesthetic companies, and is a trusted media expert for publications including Allure, Glamour, The Washington Post, and Fortune.

Dr. Sadeghpour's academic path reflects an uncompromising pursuit of excellence. After immigrating to the United States at an early age, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas Honors Program, where she delivered the commencement address as class valedictorian. She earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, where she completed an additional National Institutes of Health research fellowship investigating the immune system's role in skin cancer. She then completed her dermatology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center—one of the nation's premier dermatology training programs—where she served as Chief Resident and received the John McSorley Award for the department's highest achievement in patient care and research. She subsequently completed the prestigious American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship in Laser and Cosmetic Surgery at the internationally renowned SkinCare Physicians in Boston, training alongside pioneers who helped shape modern cosmetic dermatology.

A physician-scientist at heart, Dr. Sadeghpour has authored more than twenty peer-reviewed scientific publications and multiple textbook chapters on cosmetic dermatology, including soft tissue fillers, filler safety and complications, melasma, hyperpigmentation, laser surgery, and cosmetic procedures in skin of color. She serves on the Editorial Board of Modern Aesthetics, is a reviewer for leading dermatology journals, and has been invited to contribute to educational curricula used to train future cosmetic dermatologic surgeons. Her research has earned numerous national honors, including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Frederic Brandt Innovations in Aesthetics Research Grant for her work in melasma, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery Best of Session Award for innovations in laser tattoo removal, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Carruthers Research Award recognizing groundbreaking work in dermal filler safety.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Sadeghpour plays an active role in advancing the future of aesthetic medicine. She serves on numerous national committees and leadership positions within the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She is frequently selected by industry leaders to serve on scientific advisory boards, provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and injectable treatments, evaluate cutting-edge clinical research, and help shape the future direction of aesthetic innovation.
Previously, Dr. Sadeghpour served as Director of the Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Program at the University of Colorado, where she trained dermatology residents and physicians in advanced evidence-based cosmetic procedures while building one of the region's premier cosmetic practices.

Now based in Pittsburgh to be closer to family, Dr. Sadeghpour brings internationally recognized expertise to the community she proudly calls home. Outside of medicine, Dr. Sadeghpour enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children and can often be found playing tennis, running, hiking, mountain biking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with family and friends.
