Laser Tattoo Removal

Fade. Remove. Begin Again.

Tattoos often represent meaningful moments in our lives—but sometimes our stories change.

Whether you're looking to completely remove a tattoo, lighten it for a cover-up, or erase unwanted cosmetic tattoo pigment, laser tattoo removal offers a safe, effective way to gradually clear ink while preserving the surrounding skin.

At SkinMed Institute, tattoo removal is approached with the same precision and individualized care that defines every treatment we perform. Every treatment is personally designed by Dr. Mona Sadeghpour, a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained laser surgeon, based on your tattoo, your skin, and your goals.

Our Philosophy: Treat the Tattoo. Protect the Skin.

Successful tattoo removal isn't about delivering the highest laser energy—it's about understanding how different tattoo pigments respond to laser treatment while protecting the health of your skin.

Every tattoo is unique. Ink color, depth, density, professional versus amateur application, skin tone, body location, prior treatments, and your immune response all influence how a tattoo fades over time.

Rather than following a standardized treatment protocol, every plan is individualized to safely maximize clearance while minimizing unnecessary treatments and reducing the risk of pigmentary change or scarring.

What Laser Tattoo Removal Can Treat

Laser tattoo removal can be used for:

  • Professional tattoos

  • Amateur tattoos

  • Cosmetic tattoos (selected patients)

  • Multicolored tattoos

  • Black and gray tattoos

  • Tattoo lightening before a cover-up

  • Residual pigment after previous removal attempts

  • Radiation medical tattoos

Because every tattoo responds differently, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient.

Our Treatment Technology

PicoWay®

SkinMed Institute utilizes the PicoWay® picosecond laser, one of the most effective and advanced tattoo removal systems available today.

PicoWay delivers energy in ultra-short picosecond pulses, creating a powerful photoacoustic effect that shatters tattoo pigment into microscopic particles. These particles are then gradually cleared by your body's natural immune system over the weeks following treatment.

Compared with older nanosecond lasers, picosecond technology may improve clearance of certain pigments while reducing unnecessary heat to surrounding tissue, helping maximize results while minimizing recovery.

The SkinMed Institute Difference

Expertise That Goes Beyond the Device

Successful tattoo removal requires much more than owning an advanced laser.

Different tattoo colors absorb different wavelengths of light. Ink depth, skin tone, prior treatments, scar tissue, and the biology of healing all influence how a tattoo responds. Selecting the appropriate laser settings requires an understanding of laser physics, pigment biology, and wound healing—not simply operating a device.
